Frank,
Looks like you're doing a real nice/neat day 2 mod. on your very nice Chevelle----But, I heard in some big races the guy who looses, would fork over his pink slip----Never heard of shrinking the losers head and hanging it from your mirror---is this a local custom??? ----JoeG--

Yes it is. Sometimes a lot worse happens to the loser in Chicago! From what I hear Brooklyn is no picnic either. I actually heard that a lot of the towns problems are burried in the cement pillars of the Brooklyn Bridge!

BTW whitetop or anyone else. Know where I could get a nice 12 bolt finned vintage differential cover for my 'velle?

Moon Equipment makes one from the original mold and it is 100% dimensionaly/appearance correct-see attachment. Flatlander Hot Rod Parts also sells it among many other companies. Somebody has the original mold and is wholesaling them out to these companies. $69.00 Part # fldc12 800-547-5422
The only problem with them is the surface has more roughnes than the original. Casting looks like it's been used one too many times some minor defects. Definetely not as clean as an original. Looks like they are using a courser sand in the molds than the originals. Originals pop up on ebay/swaps on occasion but usually have fin damage, or messed up at the bottom from floor jacks or just plain junk.
I was going to buy a repop and tone down the coarsness somewhow. Any suggestions? Maybe Jerry McNeish could help.
I thought maybe just a light touch of handsanding to tone down the high points and then a beadblasting. Also the tops of the fins and the outside edge need to be sanded in one direction to get that machined look the originals had.

While out boneyarding today I found five Keystone wheels I am thinking of using on my 72 Nova if they turn out not to be warped wheels. I noticed one wheel had A Keystone Classic cap and another read Keystone Raider. What was the difference between Classics and Raiders? I'm sure someone just swapped caps so I really don't know which type these wheels are. Any of you guys got some good close up photos of these old wheels?

Tommy, your car would look way cool with Keystones. Especially if the back were bigger than the fronts.:ie F70 frt. G60 bk. Schonye

Keystone Raiders have rounded spokes - they look for all the world like a quasi-Cragar SS. Klassics have square-edged spokes with flat tops and sides. I purged all the pictures of the Raiders I had, sorry. I know someone is going to post a pic of a Klassic-equipped car any time now....

Does anyone else love the 2nd Day Llook just for the memories? I miss the old vinyl roofs, Cragar SSs, Lakewood Traction bars, L-88 hoods, front and rear spoilers, ET Winner stickers in the quarter windows, white ball and T-Handle Hurst Shifters, etc. That stuff was just too cool when I was younger.
