25 days to MCACN. Added an original RC-15 Radiator Cap and an assembly line single-step CV736C PCV Valve to squeeze out a few more points at Legends Judging.

Unfortunately, the original Goodyear F70-14 Polyglas tire that wheelhop contacted me about last week did not work out. If anyone has one with a 7 digit date code that's non-DOT approved, please contact me.

I also need help from my Canadian friends about whether my car should have a Canada Transport decal in the driver's side door jamb. I have conflicting information about when these decals were first used. The last photo is a survivor 1970 Chevelle. At least one member shared that these decals were not used in 1969.

Thanks everyone!

Folks, I don't know the answer to the question about when the Transport Canada sticker was used but I will clarify that the door jam photo is of my old car and it's not a survivor. I don't recall installing those stickers but the car was repainted in about 1989 to the original color (Autumn Gold) from black. I'm sure we repainted the complete doors so must have installed those stickers as well. I just don't remember obtaining the stickers and installing them but must have because I'm pretty sure they weren't saved somehow and reinstalled.

Thanks, ls6owner. I misspoke when I described the photo of the 70 Chevelle as a survivor. Another member had shared this photo when I originally posted asking about transport decals. He stated that this was a photo of the 1970 Chevelle LS6 Pilot car. My error.

The Fed Ex guy just dropped this off. Made my day! LT1vette, please accept my deepest gratitude for parting with this piece of Golden Mile history. I know you treasured it for many years before making me its new caretaker. Great addition to this car!

^ very cool!

Anthony, do you remember if your dad's car had a Canada Transport decal on the inside of the driver's door?

AnthonyS 10-30-2025 12:58 AM

Hey Jim, I'm sorry, I do not. It got repainted the first time by Ron Box in about 1979...

I know it doesn't help, but my 1991 454SS has one on it's jam... sorry.

But hey, it's looking GREAT! Cheers!

FWIW my 1969 Cutlass built in Lansing MI, sold new in Ayr Ontario on March 27th 1969, there was no round sticker in the door jam when I bought the car, its original paint in the door jams, did the sticker fall off, or was never there… hard to say,

It did have the sticker on the valve cover that Ontario GM cars got (I assume dealer installed) I have seen these on Olds, and Buicks.
