Sorry for sidetracking into the 9C1 Cop Car Novas but they somehow belong w/ this stuff too. Anyone w/ more interest in these cars, here's the thread from two years ago w/ one of the Copo '74 prototypes... https://www.yenko.net/forum/showthread.php?t=152554 :beers: ~ Pete . |
Wow! Lots of photos of so much wrong for $80k!
Most liberal use of engine paint overspray I have ever seen. With that much extra paint, you'd think they would call it out on the trim tag! And terrible panel fit, not to mention all the other things wrong. For $80k, you'd expect perfection. However, I love L78 Nova's, just not this one. |
I am totally not a Nova expert but am learning a lot by reading a lot of the posts about them!! I didn't see anyone mention anything about the seat belts but I believe they are "wrong"??:confused2: At least they don't look like the ones I have in my car!

Sorry, bringing back an old thread.
Always good to post any documents we come across for future reference. Came across these pictures. 1969 Nova SS L78 M22 10-10 black and the “9511” 4.88 gears. |

In addition to the post above, this one here having Canadian VVS docs.
Some areas have been trimmed and blacked out for privacy purposes at this time. 1969 Nova SS L78 M20 and code G82 4.56 gears. Edit to this post. For clarification - this is an early built car - Sept. The first 4 weeks of production you could order rear gears with RPO code - it did not require a 9511. Hence the no 9511 on the VVS documents. |
Jefferson, Any idea if the black 4.88 car still exists?

So what is the digit in the vin that is in the fold of the window sticker ? |
I sold a 69 L78 Nova a bunch of years ago, that had what appeared to be an original BW coded 4:56 rear in it. Had no docs other than a Fischer body sheet indicating a L78 4 spd, but the build date and cast dates were dead on for the build date of the car. Was sold new at Lindner Chev in Colorado Springs. There are pics of it on the site here somewhere
