Great buy on the car and engine.
How years was it, before GM had a higher performance sbc in a production car? I remember looking at low mile '69 Z's in the '70's, with 1970 LT1 replacements. I would have done the same, with either rebuilding the original 302, or buying a crate LT1. |
Looks like this one will be getting a set of Cragar's thanks to Sam Scardino. I'm thinking 8's and 4's will look good on this car.

No stock ride height on this car. Not for now anyways. I've got low profile tires for it if needed and also have shorter slicks as well. Wheel lips are already rolled, diff is centered and it has 275's tucked in it right now with no issues. Not really too concerned as I have a few sets of wheels and tires to play with and will find something to fit the rears. Thanks for the numbers in either case.

I'm running Cragar 15x4 fronts and 15x8 rears with custom offset with 4.75 BS with 275 drag radials. The car has stock multileaf springs diff is centered and have no issues. I took the upper shock shaft cover off it would rub.

Another picture that Gary sent me. From the 90's with the Welds on it.

Day II Deuce
Don here again. The custom black pinstriping and fogging was painted by another friend of mine, Ron Badiu, back in the early 70's. Ronnie Jr. has his own body shop here in Litchfield, Ohio.

Don,
If you talk to Ron Badiu, can you ask if that was done over the original paint on the car? Except for the hood it would appear to have mostly original paint with some checking in a few places. I'm thinking the ghosting was done over lacquer and at some point it was clear coated? Just curious what he may remember about the car and if it was ever repainted? |
Killer car and the Cragars will look right at home. Love the '70s theme myself....

Playing around with some wheels and tires today. I like the Torque Thrust rims myself and mounted these up with Firestone 5.60.15 front runners on 4" fronts, and a set of NOS Mickey Thompson H50/15's on 8.5" TT's. Thinking I'll drop the front springs and add an inch to the rear for some added clearance via Hurst Air Shocks. Then comes the vintage line loc, Lakewood roll bar and a few other goodies.
Just the start of things to come before the 383 Crossram and M22 go into this puppy. https://image.ibb.co/fe1MTA/IMG-1722.jpg https://image.ibb.co/caOqMV/IMG-1724.jpg https://image.ibb.co/eHGGvq/IMG-1728.jpg https://image.ibb.co/iy2d8A/IMG-1730.jpg https://image.ibb.co/g1zx1V/IMG-1733.jpg https://image.ibb.co/gOqbvq/IMG-1734.jpg https://image.ibb.co/iDLjFq/IMG-1736.jpg |
Looks great! I agree on dropping the front.
