.... Sam, I distinctly remember in 1969 while growing up in Roanoke, Va. that I walked into the showroom

of Berglund Chevrolet on Williamson Road and they were raffling off a Black 1969 Chevelle SS396

with Black interior with bucket seats for Christmas.

... The reason I remember that car so well is because a friend of mine's sister

.... WON THAT Chevelle !

........ Her Dad made her sell it about a month later !

Here's my dad, fresh out of the Airforce, with his 67 LeMans, 326 HO, 4spd, console, Rallye gauges, Mariner Turquoise, white top, green interior. I've been trying to find it but no luck. Funny part is, my uncle and cousin both owned the car until the late 90s. They keep everything, old checks, outdated newspapers, kidney stones. But do either one have an old insurance card so I can get the VIN and trace it? Nope

Here's me with my 67 Goat back in NJ. Mariner Turquoise, 4spd, console, 66 Tripower unit, that was a fun one!

Not a supercar, but you guys might like this. Dad was on a budget back in 1970, and he special ordered a very low-option Chevelle as his first new car. It was not a Malibu, just a base model. Being a "car guy", he wanted rally wheels as one of the very few options. Probably odd to see a low-option base model delivered with Rallys. Here it is in 1971-1972 after he blacked out the grille, "SS" style, added white letter tires, and SS wheel opening moldings.

I rode home from the hospital in this car when I was born in 1972.

Oh yeah, Stevey. Born and raised in Pennsauken : And the uncle and cousins were in Cinnaminson not too far from Frank ( Flyingn)

You can take the Boy outta Joisey, but......hey, you rollin' your eyes? What!? You got a problem with that?!?!!?

And novadude, that was my Dad's dilemma too. He wanted a GTO but couldn't afford it so he got the HO LeMans and decked it out.

Cheers

PS: I make a pretty funny Texan down here with my drawl
