This is my first chance to read this post also. Pete is one of the good guys in the hobby and I am truly sorry to read this. My thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.

I did test out my rev limiter three weeks ago. My heart went 250+ beats per minute for just over 19 seconds before I got zapped. It gets your attention!

Yes it does!! But that's a good thing because it means you're still conscious and alive to feel the ZAP. 19 seconds sounds like too long for it to react. It should be programed to do it's job before you hit the ground. (ask me how I know!)
