He bought it from GM with the caveat that nowhere on the car could he use either GM, Chevrolet or Corvette emblems. Not only did he race it (using his own funds), it became his weekend daily driver. Underneath the body is the chassis of a 1957 Corvette SS. The car weighed about 2154 lbs, - about 1000 lbs less than a production Corvette. It was later retained by the GM Design Studio as a historically significant vehicle and now is part of the GM Heritage Collection. |
