On the very top of the monuments you will find . . . . seashells.

My favorite rear spoiler. It looks like something you would see on a factory show car. It blends into the lines of the car. As opposed to those used by Ford and Mopar which look like they came out of a J. C. Whitney catalog.

A friend of mine just finished a 10 year restoration on this Mustang

----Amongst the great Spitfire pics of Lee's I notice that some have 3-blade props and some have 4-blade props. Are the 4-blades a modification that happened after WW2 or were some built with 4-blades from the factory?.....Bill S

Shouldn't the billboard read "Le Hemi"?

Does the fact that the speedometer is in KPH and not MPH count? :cool2:

Spitfires had 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 blade props during WWII. As the engines got bigger they kept adding blades to the props. Sorta the same with the P51 Mustang. Started with 3 blades then went to 4 when the big RR Merlin engine was installed.

Cadillac de Ville Convertible Sedan prototype, 1961. Consideration was given to marketing a 4-door convertible de Ville but never made it into series production

I believe this is a special COPO Corvette. Anyone know the backstory?

I believe there is still a 5 bladed Spitfire at the Santa Monica Air Museum. I haven't been to the museum in a while and it has since moved to the other side of the airport from what I heard. I remember seeing it fly at the Van Nuys airshows in the 90's. It was following some P51s as they made low high-speed passes over the airfield. I remember how distinctive the sound was for this Spitfire.

----Lee,,,I'm really getting bad as I meant P51 Mustangs, not Spitfires. I should have Spitfire engraved on my forehead as I am just finishing up a resto on a Donzi Spitfire 24ft. Twin 383 small blocks totaling about 840 hp's, 920 ftlb of torque. Thanks for the great info!!!.....Bill S

Back in the day, Bob Wingate was the top Corvette salesman out of Clippinger Chev in So. CA. I believe that was a car he was able to special-order.

Just Google Bob Wingate Corvette...pretty cool story!
