Ambler-Becker Texaco Station in Dwight, Illinois. Built in 1933 and operated until 1999, giving it the distinction of being one of the oldest continually operated service stations on Route 66. |

A.O. Smith added the fiberglass parts. The rear valence is metal and appears to be royal maroon which would have been painted prior to the car getting there. The underside of the trunk lid shows royal maroon which they also installed. It's quite easy to tell if these cars are still original paint as all the fiberglass parts show a little different shade.....especially as the years rolled on. |
