Valve cover bolts and my ugly fingers. Two have defined rings around the M and two don't. https://www.yenko.net/attachments/386267-tn_P1010803.JPG [/ QUOTE ] the judges are going to really hit you for the points deductions with details like that ... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif |

Different bolts
When disassembling various Oldsmobiles over the years (all Lansing Built) I notice a left side/right side difference on lots of fastners. The area I remember was the various componets under the dash, such as wirw harnesses and ducting. Left side held in place with Phillips Screws and right side with hexhead screws. As a lot of components were installed by different groups and fastners came from different suppliers you will see inconsistancy in bolt types.
As far as the build sheets are concerned, the one in the seat was likely put there by upholstery side of Fischer Body. I have notied them left the the back of left side bucket seats on 70-72 A bodies, depending on plant, some were hogged in and others were loose. Great job with the photos and documentation. This tread is getting as long as "Street scenes" and "Rotting Muscle". Keep em coming. Paul |

Re: really cool 70 Z28..simply the best.
paceme, Jim R also follows the ORIGINAL forum at www.nastyz28.com. I'm thinking he isn't a big fan of the trailer queen cars, Carlisle judging, and anal judges like me. Judged shows and judged cars arent for everybody.......
FYI, Jim R recently did a personal favor for me in Phoenix. I'm publically acknowledging him, as I do appreciate his act of friendship..... |
