The front half is in the air:-)
The back half is close, but I need to fix the two furthest back body mount caged nuts. Progress:-) Ryan |

I test fit the rear half of the rotisserie, I need to adjust one hole placement 69, vs 70 Cutlass must be different? Also need to nip off 1/2 inch from the 3.5 inch square tubes so I can adjust them side to side a wee bit.
Then I need to get the cart out and test the center of gravity. By the hundreds of pictures on the internet I should be about 6 inches low..... TBD. Ryan |
Nice, getting close :D
Dan |
Dont look so sad... You are making progress.. lol

And might I add there is another reason for this photo... ;)
But holy poop the resemblance is uncanny..!!.. https://www.discoverypanel.nl/images...ading%20Up.jpg |
I have to meet this Mike Brewer guy:-)
Ryan PS: He is handsome as hell!! |
I went out and froze my ass off last night:-)
The body was suspended in the air for a few minutes:/) I quickly blocked it up again, as I want to add more support for the tail and a chain as a safety. Yes way overkill but the way rotisseries hold up bodies "at arms length" is a very stressful lifting method. I should be spinning this week:-) Ryan No pictures, my I-Phone dies as soon as it freezes:-( I thawed it out but wasn't going back out in the cold!!!! |

Even colder tonight, we have lift off:-)
Jamie and I started centering the car, a little off to one side. I added a come along and my angle iron with eye bolts through the floor of the trunk to take some weight. We pulled the pin and spun it about 5 degrees.... FUN!!!! Still way below center.... soon she will spin!!!! Ryan |
Come on....I want to see that cars belly and you "standing" next to it with full face shield on and power grinder in hand :D

Swimsuit Edition........... Albert's 300 Deluxe ZL1........... I left the magazine stand like this for the next guy to appreciate:-) Ryan |
You, my friend, are a kind soul!!!!!!!

Actual Progress:-)
I got the body spinning, I don't plan to go 360 just 90 degrees either way to vertical. SUCCCESS!! My hunny came out to run the pin for me as the car is still a little below the center of gravity. I can push it up the vertical myself but certainly can't reach the pin at the same time. I raised the front to help but it is still below center..... not sure if this matters? I think this is just for convenience? If so it is very convenient to start grinding:-) This is a big night and huge thanks go to Terry and Shane that each loaned me rotisserie items and helped me switch the frame for the body:-) I am sore, and sweaty, and tired, and Happy!!! Ryan |
Well done :D
Get that retired grinder back out on the job. You should have that under carriage done in no time :D and reverse the entire process and get that body back on the nice freshly restored frame :D Dan |

I covered or removed the last of the stuff in the garage and got started grinding the floor. I cleaned one stripe at arm height, wow this rotisserie is a magical ergonomic device:-) The floor is in great shape, a few spots at the rear wheel wells otherwise it looks perfect!!! Ryan |
Beautiful floors :D
YOU NEED A REAR DEFROST FACE SHIELD MODEL :D Dan |
Looks solid under there! Nice progress Ryan.

Jason: I will only wire wheel to bar metal where there is pitting or rust, the Lansing paint runs will be kept:-) I am so happy with the condition under the Zeibart coating.
Pete: I will have Al over to the house Monday night to check out the progress:-) Darrell/Dan: My other face shield is much better, I will give it a try tonight:-) Damien/Helmut/Dave: Thanks for the motivating comments!!! I can actually see a car in my minds eye.......... for a while I could only see a mountain......... one step at a time!!!!! This chassis restoration is fun, I can't imagine taking the whole car apart:-( Ryan The picture is what I see in my mind:-) |
