Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
I got some preparations done tonight for the move.
I had a couple tires mounted on rims to make the frame semi roller. (Rear at least) I put them on and boy do they look good:-) Don't hate me, these are Roller white wall radials to get me going as I have scratched bias ply tires off the budget until the car is on the road for one summer. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...5-img_4707.jpg I removed the drain plugs from the trunk and made a spreader bar for lifting the rear of the car, I have seen this done by a few knowledgeable guys and I wanted a better way to lift and lower the rear. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...8-img_4698.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...9-img_4701.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...0-img_4700.jpg Super excited to get moved:-) Ryan |
Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
Also got some feedback that Kenny Maisano and Scott Tedro have my engine build figured out:-)
The core parts are on the way to California for transformation from caterpillar to butterfly. The plan has morphed with lots of considerations and thought and back and forth. Our friend Stephen Minore is helping out Mascar and I make this happen:-) The Mascar SBO W31 will be a killer Kenny Maisano street/strip build. Details to follow..... Magazine coverage to follow.......... Dyno tuning video to follow......... I was telling my friend about this and he kept gasping for air.... in a good way. I see the support Mascar has provide to the SCR and would like to put that on my bucket list. I have seen some non typical SuperCars so maybe a "Junior Supercar" can play? Ryan |

Ryan </div></div> Ryan - SCR should definitely be on your bucket list of car things to do (as in participate, not just attend). When it was in Joliet I participated with my lowly Chevelle both years and felt very welcome. It might serve as motivation for you to keep things moving on your project. Good luck! |
Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe

Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
Dinner with the Stager's was a really nice night. Our spot in the que at the restaurant got mixed up somehow so we ended up having lots of time to chat. The Manager was very apologetic and gave us a gift card for a meal:-) Win Win.
We chatted about family, work, our car, you name it. They are lovely people. Al shared a few stories about how he picked the ziebart undercoating (we laughed that I got his money's worth) we talked about the Mascar engine build (still hard to explain as people aren't used to hearing stories about generosity Especially at that level. He mentioned he misses the car more than he expected, and both Al and Lynn mentioned how happy they are to see the chassis resto progressing. We closed the place and still had more to talk about. Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
Today was a major success, we were up late with the Stager's and I took Jamie to a hockey game at 6:00 am (which had been cancelled....... ugh)
Shane, Oldzzy and Terry, RamblerDealer, Jamie and myself got my project back on track. We made sure all the chassis bolts were tight enough not to fall off on the trip and loaded up the frame, took it to the igloo. All Good We went to my work and borrowed two engine hoists. All good We lowered the body but I couldn't get the cart to come apart for love or money:-( This proved the cart was solid as a rock) we decided to remove the extra blocking only and transport the car on the tilt load on the cart. All Good but not as planned. We put half the rotisserie in my garage and loaded the body on the cart in the garage then put the other half of the rotisserie in the garage and went for burgers. Terry, and Shane, and Jamie made my day today:-) I could not have done any of this without you guys!!! (Shane drove a couple hours both ways and Terry brought his tilt load truck...... Jamie brought the teenager brain:-) Side note: somebody drove my car off the driveway at the igloo, and Terry jumped into action and dragged her out of the ditch:-) I don't know if any pictures of this were taken...... Ryan Pictures to follow:-) |

Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
Ryan, it appears as though someone in the back has driven into the igloo!!! You can clearly see the front of the car sticking out!!! I think it's a "smash and grab" on that there pallet holding the firewood down, personally. Keep an eye out....if you go back and see no pile of firewood, and a pallet laying on the ground....well....I'm just syain' But you have evidential proof of this event now!!!!!
But seriously, NICE JOB!!!!! PROGRESS!!!!!! Cheers Dave |
Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
Feels great to get moving again:-)
One of the deciding factors of bringing the body to my teeny garage is that I can get work done in small increments. Baby steps. Ryan Firewood is encroaching on my storage area:-) Tracker1 tires need to get delivered, I need to clean up the igloo nice for my Father in law. |

Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
Working away at brackets to mount the body to the rotisserie.
I am probably a little over killing this but this is a safety item and also don't want to damage the car:-( Terry's rotisserie is different than others I have seen and uses a 6 inch channel as the main spinning plate so I am making brackets to go from that plate to Shanes brackets he used to spin his 70 W31:-) I need to check all the dimensions once more but I have a plan.... I am interested to know what the spin center height was on other cars? Mine is complete so heavier than a bare shell.... I think this would mean my centerline would be a little lower than a bare shell? Please help me out with pictures!!! ROOKIE HERE!!
