Car dealer lots have only a fraction of the vehicles — both new and used — that they typically have. That's helping send prices to record levels and lifting the nation's overall inflation rate.

And the price increases aren't over yet.

The average new car price hit a record $38,255 in May, according to JD Power, up 12% from the same period a year ago.

About two-thirds of car buyers paid within 5% of the sticker price in May, with some even paying above sticker.

This one of the rarest Thunderbirds made. The Mark T edition was dealer installed from 1971-1973 and just a few made in 1970. It included a custom made fiberglass hood and header panel, custom bumper, headlights and a Lincoln Mark lll grill. The top was unique as well.

You wish that was in your garage. I don't think this particular L88 would be undervalued. But you are right about C3 LT1's, they were undervalued for a long time. I haven't checked lately but I think they are still "cheap" for the performance attainable.....
