Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
I could have bought it for 5K at that time, from what I've heard, it went to Iowa and is being restored.
|
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
It has a very low body number, 19
|
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Wow! What a 'hiding spot', what are your plans for it? I know of a Father/Son looking for a Mustang project..... (not me!).
|
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
I don't think it could have had any more trash on it...LOL
|
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
The building it was in was the trash dumping grounds for the whole neighborhood for the past 30 years.
|
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
The lot at your place looks like my dads Matt. Quite a cool piece to your collection.

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Matt, The Corvette Museum should call you for help getting the Corvettes out of the hole!

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Wow, good save there.
|
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
If the Rib Crib was open it would have been a perfect day. The 96 inch wide 100ft long alley with 79 inch wide truck draging a car with 4 stuck wheels = just another fun saturday morning for Matt and I .
|
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Give yourself some credit John. The alley was 90 inches wide.
|
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
An amazing save...not for the faint of heart...what are your plans for it?
|
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Hey, please go back and get me the green porcelain light fixture in the second photo. Good luck with the rustang.
|
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Was it hard to find the owner on the Mustang?
|
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
The property was sold and the new owner of the building got it with the purchase of the building. The owner knew a car guy and he passed the word around.
|
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
interesting that the Fastback has 4 lug rear and 5 lug front wheels ...
|
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Someone put the 4 lug rear end in it at some point. The car is a C code 289 4 speed car.
|
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Was it gone in 60 seconds?
|
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Here's a couple of BB Camaros that I found in a pasture in 2007. The '67 was an RS/SS 396, auto, deluxe interior, Tahoe Turquoise car. The '68 was an SS 396, 4 speed, British Green car.
The '67 http://i1355.photobucket.com/albums/...psf221bc53.jpg http://i1355.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0fc7ed7d.jpg http://i1355.photobucket.com/albums/...ps02c32640.jpg http://i1355.photobucket.com/albums/...pscc543dc0.jpg The '68 http://i1355.photobucket.com/albums/...psf759f280.jpg http://i1355.photobucket.com/albums/...ps644efdcd.jpg http://i1355.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0278f29e.jpg http://i1355.photobucket.com/albums/...psefee1baf.jpg Chad |
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
If you still have them and are going to part them out I may be interested in the three speedo clips off the 68 if they are salvageable.
|
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Rick, I sold both cars shortly after I bought them to a guy in MO. He said he was going to restore both cars. There wasn't much left to restore..... hopefully they don't end up as rebodies.

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Ok, thanks Chad.

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Has anyone checked out this site...? I found that when you're bored and have nothing better to do---why not check out some junkyard cars like these....

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Man, there's almost nothing worse than a partially started restoration vehicle when they stop in the midst of sanding the paint off and removing the protection for the metal and it starts to just rust away. Shame.

Glenn, the Mustang fastback rescue was me and John McKee's find.

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
It's not everyday you see a lifeguard chair overlooking a pair of Chargers. I wonder who sits up there and watches for pillagers? LOL

<span style="font-family: 'Georgia'">I should have known it was a member here making the rescue! Good luck with your find Matt – any plans? Stumbled across this old Bette a few minutes ago knocked on the door and homeowner says it's not for sale. Looks like a different hood then normal. |
