Trivia - per Jim Wangers, the '64 was borrowed from Bill Sherman for the shoot, and the post was airbrushed out to better marry-in w/the group.

Same car loaned again to GM a few years later ...

The city of Syracuse in New York receives an average of 114.7 inches (291cm) of snow annually, making it officially the snowiest city in America, according to NOAA data. The next snowiest is also in the state of New York: Buffalo which gets an average of 91.9 inches (233cm) of the white stuff each winter. Both cities are in a region impacted by so-called lake effect snow, which occurs when cold air moves across the open and relatively warm waters of the Great Lakes causing clouds to form in narrow bands. These clouds can produce as much as two to three inches (5-7cm) of snow per hour.

These powerful storms mostly result from supercell thunderstorms. Although tornadoes have been recorded in every US state, you're most likely to see one in Texas. You Can Do Two Free Laps Around Talladega If You Get The Vaccine

Quote:

Talladega Superspeedway is probably the most iconic NASCAR track there is, with some apologies to Daytona. On Saturday, you can drive two laps on it, in your own car, and for free, as long as you get the vaccine and/or a Covid test. The tests and vaccines are free, too.

Drivers have to be at least 19 years old, must be in cars registered in their name, they must have insurance, and they must sign a consent waiver for the track. Drivers between the ages of 16 and 18 can also participate, though they must have at least one parent or legal guardian in the car with them, in addition to completing a minor release form.

The laps also won’t be at NASCAR speeds, as Talladega says drivers will follow a pace car going “highway speed.” Still, this is the chance to do two laps on a 2.66 mile track with up to 33-degrees of banking on turns. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. central time at the track, located in Lincoln, Alabama, and you don’t need to pre-register.

This past Tuesday, my son Alex applied for a job online for Texas Roadhouse as a dishwasher - just to get back into the job market. He's been out of it for 14 months due to the CV-19 pandemic with me having Lymphoma. The restaurant is located about 5 miles from us. He gets a call from the Manager who wants to meet him - schedules it for the next day.

Alex has over 10 years experience as a Server. The manager asks why a Dishwasher instead of server? Alex told him that Dish washers come and go frequently while Servers don't and he wants to go back to work right away. The manager offers him a Server job right on the spot. He begins next Thursday.

Today he spent 4 hours online taking the required Alcohol Certification Course which is required of anyone in the state of NM who serves alcohol to the public. His expired years ago. He passed with flying colors.

Yesterday he filled out all the necessary employment and tax forms so all he has to do when he goes to work Thursday is bring his ID stuff so they can photocopy it.

Texas Roadhouse is open . . . get this . . . from 3PM to 9PM except Saturday when it closes at 10PM. Twice we have been there and both times, lines were outside to get in.

He gets his 2nd vaccine shot Tuesday. I've had both of mine. He is very excited to go back to work and tells me that his boss - the Manager - seems like the kind of man he will really enjoy working with.

Since Christmas it has been the two of us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Wonder how I will adjust to being alone every day. I liked being alone prior to his stopping working.

I know how to deal with IT . . . .

MORE PHOTO POSTING!
