You pics and info is always appreciated! Tim |

Thank you for all the time and effort you put into these pictures and the accompanying summaries of each one. Even though I was there for two days and saw many of them, it seems I always miss a bunch. Much appreciated.

when i was 15 years old i used to put groceries in this 69 ta. they knew it was a super rare car and as soon as i turned 16. i started driving my new 76 black ta and they tried to get me to trade them even for it. no way was i doing that and a few years later the car ended up on a little car lot in north tulsa. i tried to buy it but was about 250 apart and then it disappeared which it found its way to marty in north carolina. had another chance to buy it later when matt (auwrestling on here) called me and said i could get it for 150k. another stupid mistake by passing on it. it was always a numbers matching really nice original car with all the ram air on it when it left here.
also anyone know what page on this thread the pictures are posted? |

I went to the Torq Storm Dust Off at US 131 Dragway a couple of weeks ago. They were running the FAST and Factory Stock classes along with a few other classes. I had seen most of the cars running in both of those classes so I didn't take many pictures of them. I did get one of Bob Karakashian's Factory Stock class winning 70 Hemi Cuda. He's been running this car for a number of years now. It's a bench seat car with a TorqueFlite and runs in the 11.70's.

Here's a picture of Dave Watt's 71 Duster 340 in Curious Yellow. This is also a bench seat car with a TorqueFlite and it runs 12.60's.

This Cameo Beige 65 Impala was the winner in the IS NA class. It is powered by a 598ci engine and was running in the 9.10's. It is owned by Eric Flitsch. On his first pass of the day he put it up on the back bumper literally and carried the front wheels for about 300' before setting it down. He tamed it down a bit after that.

Dan Sharp won the Small Tire No Time class in his 63 Chevy II that is powered by a 540 with twin turbos. They were just running to the 1/8th mile and had the scoreboards turned off but I know this car runs mid-7's in the quarter. This is a true street car that he drives to local car shows and cruise-ins. I believe he said it weighs around 3,200 lbs.

Keith Shooltz was the runner up in the Small Tire No Time class in his Malibu. It is powered by a 400+ci small block with a lot of nitrous. This is a true race car and only weighs about 2,200 lbs.

John had/has a 1970 Challenger RT 383 CONVERT car swapped/cloned into a Hemi clone. Ran it with a 727 and gearvendors overdrive and EFI. That car would run mid/high 10's, but look totally stock. Watched him beat a locals A/SA 1970 Hemi Challenger a number of times too with this car. John also HAS/had as I haven't talked to john in probably 6 yrs, a original paint 1970 Hemi Cuda. Then he built the 1970 Hemi Cuda racecar with the Steve Schmidt A99 Pro Stock Hemi, with the liberty converter driven 4 speed, I bought off John when he switched the Cuda from Hemi to 737 Chevy. This was all about 15 years ago and not sure what cars he kept or what he sold. |

The following are some pictures I took at the Mecum Auction in Indy. The hammer price is before any commission. This Polo White 57 Corvette is E57S104355. It is 1 of 51 equipped with the RPO heavy-duty suspension and 1 of 43 with the 579E air box which wasn't available until May of '57. I believe all of the air box cars were equipped with 4 speeds as well which wasn't introduced until 4/09/57. This is a previous NCRS Top Flight winner. It was a no sale at $240K.

These dark colored cars are hard to take pictures of between the black carpet and the large windows in the buildings that reflect on the cars.

This Snowcrest White 59 Corvette is J59S100190. It is 1 of 745 579D 290 horse cars built. Interestingly of the 9,670 Corvettes built in '59, 3,354 of them were Snowcrest White. This car was part of the Apex Collection. It hammered for $125K.
