1970 was the first year of the windshield antenna in the GTO. In 1968 and 1969 they were mounted on the passenger front fender unless the optional power telescoping antenna was selected. The power antenna was mounted on the upper side of the drivers rear quarter panel.

I remember GM brought this car to Road America in the 70's for display at the June Sprints. They always brought cool cars for display.

I had a '68 SS396 Chevelle just like that one. Sold it to a guy from south hills of Pittsburgh around 1995; always wondered what happened to it.

When he won best in class In Cincinnati in January 2020, I actually had a guy offer me the cash to go and file the protest to get him disqualified. The way he displays the car he never actually says the car is real, he just uses all the right words to describe it in order to carefully exploit the ISCA rule book and uses about every display trick to get the person viewing the car to accept (in the mind's eye) that it IS real.
