Only the non SS 300 Deluxe models (in a Coupe or Post Sedan) were the odd and unique light light housing.

Mike,

Greg has the pictures, however here is a feature of the Chevelle in the March/April 2007 issue of Chevelle World. I will try to find the pictures of Greg reuniting the Chevelle with former owner Carlos Cendeno back in 2006 at the Can Am Grand Island Niagra Falls Chevelle Show.

As far as the Monaco Orange SS396 300 Deluxe Post Sedan....Greg is still continuing his research. From what he has gathered, the Monaco Orange Chevelle was purchased new from MLB to a Cy Young winning player from the 1969 season.

I would love to hear/read the stories on the discovery of these 2 cars. Where the rode hard beat into the ground. Or did they have a decent life. X racers or ???

Copy that

I remember a blue L78 post sedan at Legendary Motorcar about a decade ago, then I see it now with a Florida collector who also has a COPO/Yenko both Lemans Blue.

I am trying to stump you, don't think it will happen any time soon.

Ryan,

James Berry currently owns it, I have known this Lemans Blue SS396 L78 300 Deluxe Post Sedan since the late 80's when the car was owned by Ralph Schram of Elmhurst, IL.

How about a L78 post sedan Hugger 69 4 spd, 8500 original miles sold in 2006 in Springdale or Mountain Home Arizona?

Ryan,

Your disappointing me, I assumed your a 1969 Chevelle guy?
What is Hugger? We '69 Chevelle Guys call it Monaco Orange.

The 8500 mile Monaco Orange L78 Post Sedan Chevelle your referring to Sold at Mecum Belvedere IL. In 2004 by Charles Lumpkin.

I have a few pictures of it, I'll have to find them.

What's your next question?

Good one,

Hugger Orange, Monaco Orange, as you are &quot;ribbing me&quot; about are the same.

I tried to add a photo to see how it is done.

Both advertisements for this car referenced Hugger, but I always print screen them to word so i don't yet know how to post that?

If this photo posting works I added a window sticker showing 72-72 Hugger Orange, (different car)

http://i1080.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7a2358eb.jpg

Also a option sheet from the original owner of the &quot;Hugger&quot; Orange Chevelle (window sticker one, not post sedan)

Chevelle Trivial Pursuit....

Fun,

As I said, I think I will have a hard time find a post fact you don't already know.

I'll keep trying.

I feel at the same time as the Lumpkin car sold there was a clone made and sold with exactly the same mileage and everything......?

Hi all,

This is the Post Sedan that came for sale near the same time as the car Dan knows of, but either they added a stripe of they both have 8500 original miles, or one is a clone of the other?

http://i1080.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2b4eaa61.jpg

I think it is the same car just with the stripe added, here is the engine bay of the car Dan knows of.

Next riddle: Do you know of a Maroon L34 4spd 300 Deluxe Hardtop survivor, one re-paint, low low miles, approx 6-7 years ago.......

This 300 Deluxe Coupe looked like a perfect car.

It sold once in original condition (once painted) then with an engine bay restoration.

Why, Why, Why the plastic cowl covers

At the time they obviously did not know where to get the correct seat material. Rear trunk seal was also replaced. I wonder if he kept the original valve covers......perhaps may be worth a call, if you have his number?

Great Chevelle.

Dan </div></div>

Ralph didn't even own that Chevelle until 1998,when he bought it @ the VOLO auto auction.
The bidding stalled at 10K,so Ralph raised his hand and so did some other bidders,(who we later found out were VOLO employees, imagine that..),who raised the price to Ralphs ceiling of somewhere around 22K.They outbid Ralph,so he let it go.
Days after the auction,Ralph was contacted by VOLO saying the high bidder backed out,and was he still interested. He said he was,and they sold him the car for 22K + taxes.
It was on display in their building for a year prior with an asking price of 20K.
Ralph didn't know that.

FWIW.....My 1970 L78 Chevelle won both VetteFests' Gold Spinner &amp; Top Gun awards 2 years in a row during fall 2002-2003.
I remember Al F. telling me it was the first Chevelle to ever win a Top Gun award in 2002,and then the next year, back to back as well.

Rick,

Great story.....I can see Ralph doing just that

Ha, perhaps Al tells that to everyone..... but now after these facts, I believe your Chevelle may be the First 1970 Chevelle to win both awards and Greg`s was the First 1969 Chevelle to have won both awards.

Re: 1969 Monaco Orange L78 300 Deluxe Post Sedan Resto

Got a call last night a freind who's a roofer was doin a job around the corner from my home ( ST. Clair Shores, Mi) and he said the owner of the house opened his garage and there sat 2 69 chevelles. One being a Maroon/Red 69 ss 300 deluxe post car. So he started asking questions. The Owner said he was the original owner and the car was completely original. He said the owner pulled the original motor and replaced it with a 427 when the car was first bought. Said the original motor was/is stored in the corner of garage.According to my freind the car has very very low original miles. Yea I know almost sounds like a fantasy story. lol Im definitely gonna look into it for myself.

My question to all of you is, does anyone know or seen this 69 ss post car and Im gonna approach this gentlemens home just to inquire about the car but how/what should I say. I dont want him thinking im after his car if it even exists. First I have to locate the home then im gonna drive by until I see the garage opened to see what's in it. Any other suggestions?

Roofers find all the neat cars! Thats how my black 72 Formula 455HO was found. During a roof estimate, the owner's widow opened up the garage, and there it was.

Well the fact is, that this is second hand info but im definitely gonna get nosey. I go to all the local shows and I mean all lol and Iv never seen it. But my buddy who seen the car said the gentlemen that owns the car looks to be in his mid to upper 80's. Hopefully it turns out to be true. I just want to see it, well id love to own it but... From what I gather Merollis Chevrolet was big into the super cars back in the day and this car (if it exists) is only a mile and a half from there. We will see.

I would take your Chevelle there with you when you approach him..he will know you are serious...

Us Land Surveyors find a lot of great cars !!! We go in back yards, fields and farms all the time...We measure each building, so I am always looking in windows of old barns and garages. Have found my share of barnfinds in the past. Unfortunaetly they are few and far between anymore.

I know a fellow that worked as a telephone pole lineman that looked down into a backyard and found a real '62 Impala SS 409/409 convertible. He was able to buy it and it was then beautifully restored.
