If you decide to go with centerlines, make certain you have some hubcentric rings made. I don't believe anyone has them off the shelf. Several of my buddies commented on my Centerline wheels stating that I need to be sure to retorque the lug nuts occasionally. I don't have to, because I had rings made for them. Even the really old Centerlines, like I have on the El Camino should use them, even though they use a tapered lug nut. Cheap insurance. |

Thank you Matt . Had a great weekend getting the guys together at Franks. The photos that you took and great hidden OG color .... thanks for showing the white stripes. Lots of originality to provide. We are in good hands State Farm (Frank)

Thanks for sharing those fantastic details, I especially like the original seam sealer showing the tool marks.

The 4th owner who provided this photo with the USA-1 plate on the rear of the car approx 1975. Melvin contacted me this weekend he found the old USA-1 plate when he was cleaning out his shop. The USA-1 plate and hopefully some Drag racing trophies will be reunited with the car.

Some more tear down pictures. Look at the gold overspray on the side of the dash. Original firewall pad intact.
|
The original firewall pad and dash carrier looks like they will clean up nicely with some TLC on the carrier and I will compare it to my NOS dash carrier.
|
How do you repair the areas where the chrome trim is worn away?

Paint stick works great!!

The original owner of this Yenko, Rick Barratt, was a regular in National Dragster Magazine back in the 1970s. This car was even talked about in several issues. Max Gasser (Killer name) was the 2nd owner said he found the car listed forsale in National Dragster when he bought the car. We are currently on the hunt for Rick Barratt's forsale ads in National Dragster. We dont know the exact dates of publication yet but assume Late 1971 early 1972 National Dragster. Anyone have a collection of early 70s National Dragster Magazines please keep a lookout for a forsale ad for the "Motivation" Yenko.
