Doug did the original owner purchase the cowl plenum aircleaner? I know they were for the 67 and 68z. Is it for a 67 or 68 ? Thanks. Great find , amazing what still exists in garages. sent you a pm
Clean and CLEAN. That looks terrific Doug. Gotta be stoked!:headbang:
Thanks Mr. Sam ....Bugsy ..the cowl plenum air cleaner is listed on the bill of sale as an option purchased...it is for the 67 Big Block configuration...it has the 5 windows. The 67-68 Z’s were 4 window if memory serves me correctly.
Doug, can you explain this engine to me? I've read through this, but can't remember if the engine that you just pulled out of the car is the Yenko installed 427? I noticed that it has the high performance heads on it. Were these installed later? I was going to ask you this at SCR, but you were pretty popular and someone else always had your attention.
Hey Freddie. Yes this is the Yenko installed 427/410 HP Hydraulic lifter motor. John the OO put 840 heads on the car after the fact ... we will be putting the oval port heads back on the car with cast iron intake and rochester carb
The Yenko will be headed to Homer City Pennsylvania this weekend ....to start the restoration magic process. It will sit along side the 68 Yenko prototype car as they did in February and March of 1968. Pictures coming soon .

I promised John (OO) first drive of his prized Yenko. He is excited...he got a tour of the shop and was amazed at the level of perfection. I can’t wait to deliver on my promise and ask that the family as well as grand kids be there. Pizza day for sure.

wow . what a car. no secrets about this car in the future! everyone will always know how great a car it truly is!!!!
Thanks Guys. We want to share this cars restoration process. Thanks to several people on this site who have already helped me. We wanted to show all the Sheetmetal and it’s condition...most restoration shops do not share the ugly side ...this car has led a quiet easy life thanks to John Weaver...I share photos and info with him at least 2 times a week. More to come.
I plan to take another load of parts to Frank Arone in Homer City PA in the next 2 weeks...the good thing about what we are doing is to have parts readily available when needed...as appose to starting on the parts when needed. It makes the restoration go so much more smoothly and does not slow the car down.
Looks fantastic, and nice to see such good progress. Hooked!
Car looks great Doug!! Can't wait to see it when its complete...
