Re: 1969 SS396 325hp Chevelle

You may have to rotate the headlight buckets ... maybe swap from side to side? Bulbs appear to be 45 degrees off.

Postsedan 01-23-2016 01:18 PM

Re: 1969 SS396 325hp Chevelle

Craig,

Good eye.....trust me I attempted.....with this particular bulb it only has one notch. I do not wish to ruin and customize the original headlight buckets to make it work....perhaps if I come across another set of headlight buckets I will make the correction.

Re: 1969 SS396 325hp Chevelle

Maybe get some repops and hack-away ??? That should work. Don't know how much you will drive at night, but the lights left like this will skew the beam pattern. Craig

Did you try swapping from left to right? Some of those buckets fit one side only.

Postsedan 01-23-2016 03:40 PM

Re: 1969 SS396 325hp Chevelle

Yep repop buckets will do the trick

I just cannot destroy a perfectly good original part.

Plus I failed to say that the single rear notch of this bulb is rather large.

Thanks Craig.

We now have a rolling chassis

Heads and top of the engine is next

Wow, looks great!!!

The power steering is in stark contrast to any other builds of yours I have seen:-)

Going to use a "Monster" driveshaft?

I am so jealous of this build!!

Outstanding.

I would offer one bit of advice: those tiny air cleaners are going to strangle the engine. Even if you have to stay with a short element for hood clearance, go with the largest diameter(s) you can fit.

Thanks Eric.....I am certain there will be some hood / air cleaner issues. One thing is certain, we will NOT be cutting a hole in the original hood
