Its going to White Post in New Jersey. They have done more than a few for me through the years and I have been happy with their work and service.

Hope that helps,

Re: Harry Mann 68 L78 / L88 Camaro

White Post did a great job sleeving the master cylinder and wheel cylinders in my survivor Sd455. If you tell them not to touch the original outside finish, they will follow your orders, otherwise it comes back nicely painted. Turnaround was one day!

P.S. I wouldn't use those NOS brake pads unless you like the car stopping like the old days...a long distance and the pads heating up and fading out after one hard stop.

Sucks about the mc and nice additions of the Day 2 variety..

White Post was a great choice, fast too.

I hope you take Steve's advice. You can see when I had the brakes done, I took it for granted that they wouldn't touch the finish on a time capsule, unrestored car.

Thanks Darrell! To say that being parked next to Mike and Grady all weekend is infectious is an understatement!

As far as the brakes...............them is the break's. That's what happens when these cars sit around.

Gotta drive 'em............................. I once heard!

Daaam nice. I have a friend that's got a set of 69's that he had no idea what they were. He thought they were just cheap repo aluminum BBC heads. Of course I was honest with him and told him what they were even offered him going rate but he hasn't caved in yet lol. Great score

UPS delivered the master cylinder from White Post. A little disappointed with the blasting marks around the threads and bleeders. I'm sure that will rust up like the rest............

Re: Harry Mann 68 L78 / L88 Camaro

Call Whitepost and tell them about the sand blast marks. Someone on the repair line obviously did not read the instructions you gave that it was a survivor unit, not to be refinished (or read it too late). On mine, they masked off the openngs and only blasted the ports themselves. The exterior was completely untouched. I think they owe you at least a partial refund for their mess-up.

Just wait a week or two and see if you can tell.

Now that the Nova is on its way to being completed, I can get back to a couple of other "projects" I have on the docket.

Here are a couple of pics of the holes in the dash of the HM car, assuming this was for a tach. Does anyone have an idea as to what tach and / or mount that would have been utilized?

Thanks,

Tim

I would say a Stewart Warner 970 pedestal tach. 2 holes to mount the foot and one for the harness.

Hot lap around the neighborhood and time for an oil change. Who knew something so simple could be this enjoyable. Shaping up to be a good day!

Yep, here you go. This is the greenline style. There were also other face styles.

Jason

napa68 05-21-2017 04:14 PM

Are the mounting bolt holes about 7/8" on center Jason?

mockingbird812 05-21-2017 04:21 PM

What a set up! This car is BAAAAAAAAAAD!!!! Have fun!

SuperNovaSS 05-21-2017 04:34 PM

A bit less than 7/8 but I think it would mount with that spacing.

looks like 5/8". I don't think you could make 7/8" work. Might have to drill another hole. The end of the mount would cover the original hole, or find a tach that has the original spacing

Perhaps later this week. I'm at the shop this morning getting reacquainted, doing an oil change and thoroughly enjoying myself.

Props to Paul (juliosz)! I have stayed in touch with him since he bought the car from me back in 2017. He held to his promise of selling the car back to me if the time came around. I may have nudged him a bit along the way;)

Paul was very fair with me, and did an excellent job of maintaining the car!
