how bout some close ups of the firewall hole for the cowl plenum air cleaner. inside and out if possible since they were said to be dealer installed and from ones I have seen, they were done differently across the states

Re: 67 Z28 project
Gary had a trailer hitch just like that on his 1967 RS/SS Camaro...
Way cool that you are documenting everything! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/headbang.gif |

I had a later one on a red 67 RS Z but don't have much in the way of pics and the guy won't sell me the car back. [/ QUOTE ] Next time I am at LB's I will hiest your old 67 Z for you... what do I get when I deliver ? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif Great find Charley . That is going to be one sweet car when you are finished. Here is a picture of my cowl hole. Not cut out very pretty. I am not sure exactly where the car was bought, but it spent the majority of its life in MN. http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...S/cowlhole.jpg |
Re: 67 Z28 project
Gotta love the "optional Hole sawn cowl plenum" Nothin like using the right tool for the job!

Re: 67 Z28 project
Charlie a '68 Yenko Camaro project is currently on ebay. You could have a home for both motors.

Re: 67 Z28 project
Yes I was told about that car by another member last weekend. I was told it was for sale for 125K. Spoke to the owner last night and was quoted 210K. It is missing the vin tag in the dash because it was stolen when it was about a year old. It has a Tenn state assigned vin with the same vin on a tag next to the Yenko tag. Also has a 160 speedo not the Yenko 9737 140 unit. Nice project but.....

Re: 67 Z28 project
I had a 70-1/2 R/S Z/28 that I used for towing. It had a weld in frame hitch and 4:10 gears. I drove it on a 600 mile round trip to Los Angeles one week end to pick up an Austin mini cooper. It pulled would pull a trailer real well but I had to stop at every Union 76 gas station I saw along the way.

Re: 67 Z28 project
No this was when I lived up in Fresno by this 67 Z/28. When I moved down to Long Beach I brought the 70 Z/28 with me. All I could afford was to live in an apartment complex where about 2 cars were being stolen a week. I did not want the car to get stolen and parted out so I sold it instead. Sure enough in the next months Hemmings the 70 Z/28 was for sale for twice what I sold it for.

Re: 67 Z28 project
Unfortunately JM has the 63 o-dash experimental aluminum heads at his shop for some repairs...I have tried to get to his place for some other work i need done on some other parts, but he is a very busy man...When i get there i will take some pics and post them,...hopefully next week.......and the hemi x-ram intake has ports more similar to a Ford Boss 302 than anything I have found...I was thinking of trying to have an intake made by cutting the top half of a "production" x-ram base and mating with a custom-made type intake bottom....anyone know a very very good aluminum intake fabricator??? It would have to be a real good custom job. any ideas??? thanks
