What you might be referring to is the horsepower and torque specs for this engine....68-70 L78's were advertised at 375hp at 5600 rpm's..torque was 415lbs at 3600 rpm's...these numbers are a little conservative for what the engines actually produced...when this motor was introduced in 1965 it was rated at 425hp...but at a higher rpm(around 6300 I think) the rating was dropped in 1966 to 375..probably to help with the marketing of the new 427 engine or maybe to keep the insurance companies happy..who really knows..?? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif
