Did city slicker Tibor pump his own Diesel Fuel this year,or did he have to wake up half the town to do it for him?...http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...e3e869020f.gif

I think he said he's blending his own Bio-Diesel now. He's kinda fed up with 'Vendors' in general! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

It’s good to see these 70-L78 cars finally being restored. I think this is only the third one I have ever seen finished. I know of 4 in the process of being restored now. Unfortunately the tail panel on this car is flat black which is wrong.

Re: Monmouth Car Show

------Mark,,,I think we all just went thru some thing very similar to this, although you may have missed it. Im hoping we didnt push out a couple of the very best members we have in that debacle. In the world of restored Chevys what real difference does it make weather the tailpanel is flat, gloss, semi-gloss or purple for that matter??? The owner may or may not know if its correct or not. To my way of thinking though it can be easily changed by the next lucky owner if and when there is one. The owner may appreciate the input, but then again he may NOT. I really dont see the sheen of a tail-light panel, no matter what it is, as being unfortunate! I do believe you meant no harm but I, for one, am re-thinking how to post in the future. I think it behooves all of us to focus on the posatives rather than dwell on some of these minor (in my eyes) negatives. Hope you choose not to take this the wrong way......Bill S

Re: Monmouth Car Show

I agree Bill, let's focus on the positive. As I was getting some shots of this car, John and his friend, noted Camaro guy Larry Christensen (sp?) were sitting behind the car. This exact topic came up. We all three agreed, we tend to reproduce what we remember from the day.
Bottom line; I'm POSITIVE I like this car, and it really doesn't matter how the tail is painted. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

(And BTW, it isn't really flat. I guess I need to take more time composing my shots so they more accurately represent what's really there.)

Re: Monmouth Car Show

I agree Bill. I think the car is “Gorgeous” and whoever restored the car did a Great Job. I have a good eye for attention to detail and I know these cars real
well and could probably pick it apart but as you mentioned this is not the thread for that. If I offended anyone that was not my intention. Personally I want
to get peoples opinions on my Restorations; Good and Bad. This is how I learn. I am thrilled to see another 70 Camaro SS/L78 come out of hiding and get restored.
BTW Dennis, Awesome Pictures

Mark,

don't even go there about tail panel colors.......some real strong opinions have really hurt some superior members here. HOW IN THE HELL did we miss this show???? Hell, this is driving distance for us? Me in the Camaro and YOU in the Impala! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

could someone here let me in on the show schedule at Monmouth? I'm in Mt Laurel

Here is picture of my 70 L-78 tailpanel with survivor paint.
Hard to tell in pic but black has significant gloss; much more than Gold Camaro above.

Interesting to see how the SCW is having there 69' Camaro back panels repainted. Very glossy, some would say FULL gloss. I'm sure Brian knows best and has evidence.

(Below pics of Kenny's L-78 and the Arone/Pascoe L-89 as seen at the 2007 Carlisle CAMARO NATIONALS)
