I know we discussed this a few years ago, but just what was the difference between the '65 396/375hp and the 396/425hp?

-----Hydraulic cam was 375 and solid lifter cam was 425. the 375 was the only instance of big port heads combined with a hydraulic cam that Chevy ever did until now days with the factory roller cams if I remember correctly.....Bill S

I own the 1960 corvette that belonged to the only holley guy that worked IN the chevy plant and traveled regularly to the proving grounds to tune the 1967 L88 cars (he was there from 60-80). He last told me how he adjusted the vent tubes on the 3124 carb when that setup that carb was being developed for 425hp chevy in the plant, I will ask him specifics on a Z16 396 setup related to a hydraulic lifter motor and post it here. I never thought to ask him about the 3130 I had that supposidly came off a Z16.

3130 is big car 425hp. Z16 carb is 3310.

That scoop looks the same as the one on the 1978 Mercury Capri Turbo we once had.
