Geoff, sorry to come down so hard. It is just that we have been through this a lot of times. People have come on here in the past and have said that our times of 13's and 14's suck for muscle cars but what they don't understand is that those times are a lot harder than then they seem to acquire with a muscle car in stock config. Again, I am sorry. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif
Marlin, I finally found the timeslips. I attached the one from JJ's run. 2.305 60' and a 13.878 over all run. By the way my car had a 3.73 rear ratio. I changes out the 4.56's that were in my car shortly after I bought it from Neal. My exhaust was bigger than stock I think. Marlin would know that. He knew more about my car when I had it than I did, but still couldn't beat me! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif By the way, Neals son told me that they did a best of a 13.3 in my car. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif |
Re: Yenko Deuce Timeslip
Daaaaaamn...... a 2.305? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/shocked.gif Geez, so much for the bigger gear theory too. Pete told me years ago that the best combo is with the 4.10 gear, not the 4.56. Thanks for the slip, I'll have to compare it to my best one and see where the difference is - probably every measurement point https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

Re: Yenko Deuce Timeslip
No problem Frank, just trying to get some info on these cars. I do know how hard a high 13 low 14 pass is, especially in " stock " trim. My 84 Mustang which I bought new runs high 13's with few bolt on upgrade. Stock block, cam ,heads etc. is rated at only 175hp. I have run a 1.8 60 footwith this car with 373 gears. DRag radials. Unfortunetly the car runs out of hp on the top end but the first 3 gears are a blast . It took a LOT of time to figure out how to run this good. On the flip side my L78 went 12's without too much effort, but there was a learning curve there as well. A deuce that runs high 13's on polyglas tires is very impressive and must have quite the top end charge...

Re: Yenko Deuce Timeslip
I'm looking for that top end charge! I'm usually looking at Frankies 1/4 panel instead https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/mad.gif

Re: Yenko Deuce Timeslip
Keep trying Marlin !!!!

Re: Yenko Deuce Timeslip
Guaranteed, anyone going to race at a strip will come home humbled and humiliated. Not as easy as it looks, especially on street tires with a 4 speed. It's happened to every racer that I know. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/tongue.gif

Re: Yenko Deuce Timeslip
Hmmmm..... I compared JJ's run to my best run, and the differences are consistent throughout the run.
-------Marlin------JJ----Diff 60'----2.237----2.305----<.07> 330'---6.109----6.079-----.03 1/8----9.262----9.102-----.16 1000'-11.967---11.692-----.27 1/4---14.252---13.878-----.37 MPH---98.690--103.040-----4.35 Factoring out my 60' advantage, it's a tenth at each measuring point https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/shocked.gif Sounds like the consistent advantage of 2.5" mandrel bent pipes supports the consistent advantage proven between the slips! |
Re: Yenko Deuce Timeslip
ummmm...and the little thing called RPM's...Marlin why dont you build another motor and shelf your numbers piece and run it like you stole it... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif

The deuce with headers and slicks would be well into the twelves as well, pretty stout for a 350 car https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif The SuperCar moniker is more about ordering hi-perf combinations via the COPO, and dealer installed stuff as opposed to 1/4 mile stats - keep in mind that Yenko Stingers are considered SuperCars, and they would probably wouldn't impress anyone with their 1/4 mile et's https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif [/ QUOTE ] Hmmmmm............Which "Stingers" were you referring to??? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif LOL |
