First off, Thanks to Albert for posting the pics I failed doing.
As to question of engine color: I have never found anything closer than Plasticote in the aerosol cans, Chevy Engine Orange. I have a painted valve cover I took off a 70 Camaro about 1 week after delivery and it is a good color test sample..........very close to this paint and not too shiny like some others I see. Easy to find at most auto parts stores. I have used nothing else for years.

If I'm not mistaken, they look like the rolled exhaust tips https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif

Beautiful car and fantastic work! . Looking at those chassis shots reminded me of High School Auto shop days. . GM Oshawa used to give our area high schools new "damaged" units to dismantle for tech training. . We usually pulled the bodies whose parts were sold off then shortened the chassis and made drivable chassis units. . Besides fond memories of the parking lot races, I remember most were full size Chevys often wagons and sometimes trucks also recall a few 66-67 Novas? . I remember one school had a 72? Skylark with that tarp style sunroof....I think it had A-pillar damage from hitting an overhead obstical and think it stayed together and was sold in the later 70's with about 20 miles on it? ~ Pete

George, I would be nervous at BJ also, one Loomis truck for the cash after the auction probably won't be enough!!!!

Yes, rolled exhaust tips, a rare '69 only item I always liked. This is actually a set I made/copied/repo'd back around 1990 and sold to the previous owner of this car who never put them on because he never did the car. They were in trunk in the box I sent them in from years ago. I had a Dusk Blue L78 car years ago that had original ones I used for a prototype and worked with a local hot rodder buddy to make about 12 or so sets I sold. They are out there somewhere on cars.

The car looks beautiful https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Scheduled to cross the auction block 9 cars after the Ray Allen LS6 Convertible https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif ..... excellent timing, George. I usually leave the auction before that time of evening, but might have to stick around for those two https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Bill, make sure you have that purple Nickey shirt on, so I can spot you when the COPO Chevelle goes across the block. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif
