Re: Local Deuce Featured in the newspaper (Long)
Joe, I am glad to meet another owner of a Colonial Chevy Deuce. The reason that they had so many was that the owner, Josh Darden was a good friend of Don Yenko.I still have my original bill of sale and the window sticker. I will be glad to scan them and post them for you guys to see. I think the final price was around $3,400. I guess that was a pretty good investment. If I remember correctly, the insurance was about $300 a year for full coverage. They just didn't know what these cars were capable of doing.

Alan, did you ever see the silver race deuce that colonial sponsored? |
Re: Local Deuce Featured in the newspaper (Long)
That picture looks very familiar. I didn't get to see them unload any of these cars but I did see them on display. It sure brings back some memories. I still go by Colonial about once every two weeks but needless to say there is nothing like the good old days.
Well, I have to call it a day for now but I will get those pictures and documents together and post them to see what you think. It's great to talk with everyone. Alan |

How long was it before you removed the A.I.R system after you took delivery?

Re: Local Deuce Featured in the newspaper (Long)
Yep, they used to race it at a local track called the Suffolk Raceway. It was basically the same as ours except for a set of wrinkle wall slicks on the back. They raced it in the old "gasser" category. Boy did they ever surprise a lot of people with that car.

I took the smog stuff off after about two months, now it's back on for authenticity.

Marlin I looked at a 69 Charger RT with those same mirrors on it at Cruise night last night.
