I would guess that they are refering to some type of aftermarket chrome hood pins which were a popular add on. On the "traction masters" - there are traction bars with the brand name "Traction Master" but from what I have seen Dick Harrell used a home made traction bar similar to a Bill Thomas design. The car may not have used the brand name Traction Master traction bars. They may mean "traction bars" instead of "Traction Masters". I am not 100% sure on this. Some Dana Camaros and Shelbys used the Traction Master traction bars but they were probably more expensive then the home made bars.

Did you talk to Bill Harrison (I believe that is his name). He was the guy running around on the motorized cart.

Anyway he confirmed that Dick Harrell was an employee of Nickey Chevrolet as they worked and raced together. He also stated that Harrell performed many more conversions for Fred Gibb than Don Yenko.

I also found the "traction master" reference on the Yenko window sticker interesting. My father grew up in the 60's and he always refers to any type of traction bar device as "traction masters" even if they are not that exact brand. I always tell him that "they are not traction masters!" and he tells me that is what they used to call them back then. [img]/ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif[/img]

A few months ago, there was an ebay auction for traction masters. He claimed they were used on yenko's and motion cars. To bad i do not have that auction link. Maybe someone else on here remembers this. They has stickers on them that said "traction masters" Roger

I also saw an auction on e-bay with actual NOS Traction Master brand bars that were for like a 55 Buick or something.Looked like they were actually from the 50's. Mabye someone else knows the deal with the Traction Master brand who is more knowledgeable in the "day 2" brands like whitetop?

Hello Everyone, I am the editor of the Newsletter for the Camaro Club in Arizona and would lik eto ask a question. Would anyone who submitted pics to this site for the Reunion have a reservaztions if I used any of the pictures in putting together our Monthly Newsletter? If it is not ok to use these pictures I will not use them, but they are of such great cars it would be a crime not to share these with our members.

I have a set of NOS Traction Masters for a 67-69 Camaro.The were made in the SoCal area.They were/are a weld on piece only, that attaches to your lower spring/shock mount and the front spring mount.They look like a great design,but a little hard for the DIY person to install due to the required welding.They would be a very noticeable mod if not removed properly....

Steve your right ,I sold an NOS set because of the alignment-welding deal.They would look nice on a motion- nickey show car.The whole problem is they should be mounted before car is restored.
