Here are a couple of our 409 when we first owned it in 1979 sitting in the driveway awaiting it's first re-fresh and then again in the driveway just after a garage re-spray along with a photo of the freshly assembled replacement 409 that Dad rounded up via friends and swap meet finds back in the day. After Cousin Eddie scattered the original 409 block in the mid 60's it ended up with a wheezer 283 between the frame rails and that was still in it when we got it in 1979.

My first car bought in 1972. It was a white car but I had it painted blue around 75.
Put a 1970 Chevelle 396/350 engine in it with 4:46 Zoom gears. It ran real good. Sold it around 79 less engine n trans for 800 bucks.

I'm almost sure I've posted these before but here they are again. 1990's. My first car. Purchased from an 89yr old lady. She was the 2nd owner and wrecked it in 1978. I purchased the car for $400 and my father helped me "restore" the car. Since I wasn't but 14 I still couldn't drive it. My folks put it in the Lebanon Christmas Parade the first year after doing all the body work and paint. Originally a 307/PG with 2.73 gears it was well uhhh... Turd. When I turned 17 and after driving it for a year and saving up the dough I bought and built a mild 350 280H Comp Cam, Edelbrock Performer & Holley carb with a set of Hooker long tubes mated to a M20 transmission. Out back the 10 bolt single leaf diff was swapped out with a 5 leaf BU 12 bolt with 3.55 gears. Burnout was the first and last the 307 could muster with the aid of the 3.55 12. Once the 307 was plucked the new engine & trans were bolted in. Back then a 17yr old could still work a part time job and be able to buy cool shit.

oldest first.
All our cars.
All Mopar's are factory 426 Hemi cars,
Buying them was cheap early and mid 80's.

some more

69 Corvette was 350 4spd and had a damaged lf fender. New one lying on car. Learned to call them "itchmobiles" with that and the green 71.

wedding pics are Anns sister summer 81. I have been chauffer in many weddings.

Used the Mustang in my oldest niece's wedding. She did not care for the tire smoke leaving church for the drive around bit.

Me pushing the mustang hard in corners at raceway park was probably not smart. Look how far the right front is down and lr is up.
Those are it's factory installed tires.
Pic from 1989.
Lawyer in Walnut Creek CA bought it new and parked it in 1971.
Inside under a cover so it was still shiny.

Hood pic and pic of [ Ann, sister Jane and me with very dirty hands last post] are the only pics of the 68 ht she drove 1979- 1983. 396 was sick so it had a low mile 73 pickup 454 shortblock with the 68 heads. Car was 5 different colors but could hold its own in a stoplight grand prix. Surprised plenty as it ran well. 780 holley and 66 intake helped also. 4 spd 3.31 car.
