Would one consider this to be a rootbeer color as well? Friend of mine test drove what he called a rootbeer colored 427 sYc Nova just a week before his draft notice came in the mail. He was going to pull the trigger on it but the notice put the ky-bosh to it!

The Nutmeg Metallic car is a root beer color but I believe that car was sold new with an L78. It was restored by the Supercar Workshop and last I knew was in a museum in Florida. It was restored as an L78 car and as far as I know there was no documentation that it was a 427 transplant car.

I believe that the Nutmeg Nova was on this list of 37 cars transfered to the Yenko Sports Car, Company, but it was sold as a stock L78 and later converted by Warren Dernosheck at his home garage. A stinger hood was added when restored.

There has without question been L78 Novas ordered and sold by Yenko which were not on the list of the "37" cars.

As Pete suggested, since it is known that Fencil Tuffo recieved one Yellow left over 1969 Yenko Nova when they became a Yenko Deuce Dealer for 1970. It would certainly be possible that the same thing happened with Dale as they also sold Yenko Deuces.

1969 Yenko Nova

So how could you verify for sure it’s a real 427 conversion? Only the Yenko paperwork could ?
Apparently the owner doesn’t have any docs .

But he might be able to trace back the ownership and luck into some documentation like some folks have.

So at this point it's likely to be an L78 but maybe a transplant car right?

Yep, solid backtracking also good luck and prayers may reveal the truth but could take years.
Eyeballs inspection necessary but all in so far, seems a good chance it was one of the 427 cars but being a Yenko delivered L78 Nova also on the probable conversion list, definitely worth aquiring for a fair # if a fella had the opportunity to step up.
Any chance Warren may have info on this one to share?

Would a non converted car that was sold as a L78 have all the emblems on it?

The Yenko crest was used on some unmodified Yenko sold cars.

I have seen it on some Yenko sold Corvettes and Z/28s and other cars. It is not clear if Yenko used the crest as a normal dealer emblem. It may have been used as a bare emblem. I have seen it bare and have seen it painted with different styles of paint on the crest also seen it on Yenko race cars and on Don's personal cars.

I don't think the Nutmeg Firemist Metallic 1969 Yenko Nova is on the Vince E. 37 list because some articles called it the 38 th Yenko L78 Nova.
Warren D. had a lot of paperwork and history on the car if I remember correctly

here is the Nutmeg Firemist Metallic 1969 Yenko Nova at the museum
