Watched it live, AWESOME!

I really thought it would sell for a lot more. Didn't seem like there were 2 or 3 bidders who just had to have the car.

Congratulations to the above members who came the closest in guessing the selling price.

I wonder if the owner had any private offers above this and he turned them down in anticipation of getting more at Mecum?

I would say unknown. The deal was struck between the owner and Mecum months ago.

The true value of the car would be determined by it going to auction as it did.

I too, thought the car would do better. I predicted $10 million back in August, but got nervous when rumors circulated about the sale only being open to U.S.-based buyers. Can anyone confirm if the stipulation that the car remain in the U.S. was indeed true?

LOL - 1968 Mustangs don't sell for $3.4 million. :scholar:

Is there a 10% buyers premium at Mecum Kissimmee? If So that means "Frank" will pay $3.74 million for the Bullitt Mustang. Close enough to what a dozen of us guessed at $4 million. ;)

Makes me wonder what it would have done at Scottsdale in a couple weeks on a boozy Friday or Saturday night...
