Hey Doug what an interesting car you found.... I'm curious about the engine configuration. If I recall this car was delivered as a 4N 396-325 hp. I know Yenko installed a 427 shortblock, and believe they reused the heads 325hp heads. Since it 410hp was the L36 427-390hp shortblock used? What intake and carb.

The way it's opted and configured it seems this was somewhat tamer than the typical 67 Yenko. BTW I love the color, options, history and documentation.

Steve I will have to ask The original owner what heads came on the car ... since you weren’t there and I wasn’t there that would be a great question to ask him but I guess you are assuming .... and if I hear you correctly you must think all of the automatic cars were only 390 horse .....But Yenko Chevrolet advertised them as 410 hp. No better person to ask than the original owner.....I will reach out to him...he usually gets off work at 5 pm and works in Latrobe ....if he doesn’t visit family...usually home by 5:15 pm.

Amazing car with uncommon options for a ' hi-performance' conversion. Gotta be one-of-a-kind! :beers::beers:
The Blue exterior/red interior wasn't all that uncommon in the early 60s. I've seen many Corvettes from 63 - 64 like that.

GREAT Find Doug ! :flag:

Ok guys.... I just got off the phone and spoke to two people.... First being Warren Dernoshek... most everyone is familiar with him because he worked at Yenko Chevrolet.... his exact words were ....We advertised the cars at 450 hp for the solid lifter 4 spd. and 410 hp for the hydraulic automatic.....but we did not have a dyno...he went on to say ...we tuned the cars but had no way to get exact HP ratings. That is his recollection. Then I called the original owner....and he said that they tuned the car ...but reused the heads, intake, and carb.....so there you have it ....exact HP was not really known but it was advertised that way by Don Yenko...We all know he was a salesman for his performance cars.

… Doug, That is a great car you have there.

… Looking forward to seeing it's progress. :flag:

I wouldn’t consider this “tamer” than most 67 Yenkos. Especially it is known that the low end torque along with the other dealer installed options made it very competitive to its 4 speed solid lifter counter parts.

I look forward to learning more of the history of the 67 cars. Thankfully the first owner is around to share and help preserve the history on 760.

I would assume when the original owner ordered the car with Doug headers...that there was an increased amount of power. The paperwork shows a set of the headers...we all understand the power pickup when you run thru the headers and not the mufflers...on my Rally Green Copo that we race regularly...we picked up 4 tenths at the track by going thru the headers.
