Re: X22 COPO
i did some checking your vin puts the car in late jan build, yenkos 2nd order was put in nov 11 68 the 2nd batch started to show up in feb that shows a 2 1/2 to 3 month separation, the first order was on oct 1 68 which puts your car right in that same time frame to build the first copos. also I have notes of a very early copo delivered to courtesy Chevrolet sebring ohio vin# 578203 hugger orange. so other dealers new pretty early on. maybe because of the 427 cars being built at norwood some local ohio dealers may have gotten wind of the copos being built and got in early and ordered some cars?

Re: X22 COPO
The Assembly manual indicates a hole relocation with-in the first month of production but is not for wiring, it was for the location of the piercing to mount the solenoid relay and it only moved the relay an inch or so. Another issue would be that the wiring has the grommet attached and is not really able to moved 2 feet (which is what would be required in order to install correctly.) Additionally Dave Beem's 12C ZL2 Z28 has the wiring in the normal location above the fuse box, as does every early ZL1 and Yenko I have ever laid eyes upon. Not saying it didn't happen however that is a long way from saying it did.

Re: X22 COPO
Another clue that she had Cowl Induction Hood is the plastic clips that hold the wires in place. Not only that, it says 3L2 on Firewall = ZL2.

Re: X22 COPO
Can we confirm if the first 50 Yenkos, or any other COPO does not have the hole above the fuse box?

It has to be a unrestored X66 or X22 COPO. Restored ones can have been drilled above Fuse box. |
