all solid lifter Z28's came with the "optional" rear bumper guards as part of the package, all the way through 72 ...

That's because the lack of torque from that lil' 302 would let them roll back into the car behind them at red lights or hilly parallel parking.

Absolutely not true for a '67 Z-28. Rear bumper guards were not a mandatory part of the Z package until 1968.

Look at how the center cap fits on that wheel. That is a 15" rally. The Mod Topper was originally Tahoe Turquiose with white stripes and no vinyl top. It is car #25 on the list.

Looks like a Great way to ruin a beautiful car. Tahoe Turquoise w/white stripes sure looks a whole lot better than this mess in my book! Ahhh.... the 60's

Rear bumper guards were not standard equipment on 67 Z's.

Those are 14-inch Disc Brake wheels with D70s. Same setup as disc '67 SS's.

These are 15-inch Disc Brake '67 Z/28 wheels as seen on the prototype. Note difference in diameter of both the wheels and the tires.

So the prototype 67 Z must have had solid lifters.......
