That is a beautiful automobile with an interesting history and color combination. The Olds 442 W-30 ragtops were such exceptional looking and all around performing autos. I am looking forward to seeing your car in person at one of the major events soon. I have seen many other W-machines restored by Gary and they have all been top flight! Welcome aboard & wishing you the best! RM

I friend of mine saw a W-30, W-27 convertible here in Sweden last year. .... I have a Hemi Challenger and a RAIV in mind. </div></div> Have you forgotten your COPO already? The 442 you're referring to is it the same one I have found. I know a 442 W27 coupe too not far form where I live. Jan |

Hi Janne !
No I havenīt forgotten about my COPO, I was just thinking about rare convertibles shipped back to the U.S. Do you have anything else to tell us about the W-30,W-27 convertible you looked at ? Transmission ? Other options ? |

I just looked at it briefly a couple of years ago when writing my book. It is under restoration. The guy has the buildsheet somewhere at home, he said he should try to find it... It has A/C and Auto. The original hood was damaged some time and the insurance company had someone make a new one and it isn't really looking like it should on the underside. I am not 100% sure on the W27 rear, the whole axle is painted silver. It has been "known" for many years that this car has a Alu-rear. Except that, the drivetrain is #matching and car is in good shape. I think he would sell if he got a good offer and it could be another one going back to the US. But the exchange rate is bad for us selling. Jan |

The car made it to the 2011 Oldsmobile Nationals in Reno last week- Received the Best of Class Award and is now in my garage waiting for some owner sorting. It was fun to share the car with my Oldsmobile peers and I hope to make the Muscle Car Nationals in Illinois in November.
