Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
When you have a long post...try typing it in Microsoft Word first...then copying and pasting it into the post area here.
It will save a lot of time (and frustration). Ask me how I know! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif |
Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
Brian,
We pretty much know that there were 10 CG Deuces built, and we know where 9 of them went originally. Deuces were occasionally dealer traded, but that is very hard to document. I recall our conversation at the Nova Nationals in Belterra, IN and that the dealer was Conner - Indiana. It's cool to see/hear that these cars were dealer traded, especially since we normally hear that they were distressed merchandise after Aug. '70! Yenko was putting out Bulletins to the dealers in the network notifying everyone of other dealers with excess inventory, so that was one way that far-away dealers could locate & transfer some of these SportsCars. Cool pic, love those whitewalls! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif |

Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
I think the hood tach is obscured by the window divider. There is a slight trangular bright spot on top of the hood just to the left of that divider...
Is that a gold / black 69 Camaro parked right next to the Nova? |
Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
Not to highjack this thread but does anyone know of a red/white 70 deuce that was sold out of C&O Chevrolet in Charelston or Beckley WV.The reason I`am asking is my cousin was telling about his uncle on his dads side of the family that had bought this nova new in 70 and lived in WV and kept the car under a car port for many years and hardley ever drove the deuce and then sold the car and was supposedley rolled over after the new owners bought the car.I check the vin list but did not see the dealer listed.

Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
With dealer trades, it's not unusual to find deuces at dealers that they weren't sent to.
To the best of my knowledge, there have not been any verifiable red/wht striped deuces found. Mine was a guess, and personal preference. Mr. Ed believed that Engler's was that combo, but there seems to be evidence that he was incorrect. The one in the Ernst collection was done that was as Cliff liked that combo. I think there could have been some, just no original owner, or docs to prove it that I know of. I believe that the only color proven to go both ways is Citrus green. Good luck with the hunt. If this guy was the original owner, see if he has any old pics, and if he has any old registrations with the vin on them. That would help a bunch. |
