Re: Old Street Scenes
Well, I have spent the last 2 nights and this morning looking through all these pics. I love it. I have some I could add, but they are all from Central Texas area. If anyone wants, I will dig them up.
Thanks Dog. Awesome. Those pics could be the beginning of a cool website in itself. |

Rita,
Was your dad-in-law a combat engineer? That looks like a deuce-and-a-half with some specialty box on the back, along with all that river forging hardware alongside, on the ground. |

Gouz was the busiest place in Elmont for many years – it’s not Gouz any longer but there are still offshoot businesses carrying on at its location! |

Thanks for some new viewing!!! Dicky </div></div> That was the Chrysler turbine at their exhibit at the NY World’s Fair – http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/apr15011.jpg Here is a shot of one I took at Daytona in the early sixties - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...435/363026.jpg Unfortunately here is their demise!!! Turbine's die!! . |
Re: Old Street Scenes
Thanks Glenn, I saw what's left of one at the Peterson Museum in LA. I can't remember but I believe it has no turbine in it. Cool history.

Re: Old Street Scenes
There is one in the Gilmore Museum in Kalamazoo, MI. I have an AMT model of that car and have had a fascination with them ever since I first discovered them and have collected lots of literature on them.

Oh man, that Fairlane GT (A?) is sweet! Love the full wheelcovers and whitewalls. Not the fastest car on the street but a good-looker for sure. Looks like a high school graduation present?
