Air car.

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
I should have snapped some pics of my uncles 68 Camaro. It was a 327 I believe, not sure on trans. He bought it used in the 70's while in high school and started learning how to hang quarters on it but it never got finished. He passed away last summer. That car sat buried in the garage for 35 years with NOS GM fenders sitting with it.
I wouldn't mind messing with that Hornet! |

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Found in North Carolina, a 1966 chevelle next to the center tree and an old hot rod with one piece glass front end under a make shift car port along with other old cars that appear to have been sitting for some time.

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
That fiberglass nose looks like a 41 Willys front end. Wonder what is behind it?

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
What makes you think that 69 is an RS?
It has regular Camaro non-RS taillights and a regular grill without hidden headlights. |

Here is a 1967 Mustang GT 390 4 speed car I just picked up. Sitting in front of that is a 1966 Mustang C-Code 289 4 speed disc brake car. In the dude's garage is a 1966 C-Code 289 Pony deluxe interior car. Very solid but sustained some right front fender damage and was parked ever since.

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Matt, my neighbor has pictures of a falcon like that back in the day. You wouldn't happen to know anything about it would you?
|
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
The falcon racecar start out as 37 Ford coupe . Guy said it was to top heavy and out dated .So he reskined the 37 frame with the falcon body. All kinds of old school trick . I love the green garden hose used as windlace and around the wheel wells to keep from cutting a tire.
|
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Look at the rear bumper it was made from a spare front drop axle .

Jed, I would love to see the photo if you get a chance. -Matt |
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
I'd have to get the pictures from my neighbor, but that looks like the same Falcon he ran against at grandview.

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
The chevelle is located about 25 minutes south of me. Its not for sale. He's owned the Chevelle since he was in high school and the Monte was a car that his father bought brand new.

Just in case anyone is interested in these cars, I am a licensed re-builder and in Alabama cars that old don't have titles so clearing that part up is easy. Cars going to any other state just require a bill of sale and current registration from Alabama. |
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Hi all, I've just spent the last few days(!) reading this thread, I love seeing all your pictures of rotting muscle cars - one day I hope to do a road trip around the USA and see some for myself - we don't get many "Yanks" over here - but here are a few things I've found over the years that you might like:
