Bill, do both sides get put at 7 to 8? or one side 7 to 8 and the other side 4 to 5? |
Re: Donnie`s new 1969 Dover White L78 Chevelle
----Donnie,,,Both should face forward and down. I should have made that clear. Sorry!
----Also sorry it took me so long to answer, but I just got back from a short trip.....Bill S |

Re: Donnie`s new 1969 Dover White L78 Chevelle
I took the car for its first drive on the street yesterday. if you plan on driving your car DONT put repop belts on it only went 3 to 4 miles and tossed the fan belt and turned the power steering inside out.
got the front end aligned today now I have a couple bugs to work out. |
Re: Donnie`s new 1969 Dover White L78 Chevelle
Whose aftermarket belts do you have on it? I have heard people complain about Quanta belts and I have been using them for over 10 years with no known issues.

Re: Donnie`s new 1969 Dover White L78 Chevelle
Rick, they were Quanta. if the car never sees any rpm's there fine.
I ran it up testing things out and lost them. picked up a couple made in the USA napa belts today and no issues. |

Rick, Most of the cars that you and I restore - are mostly Trailer Queens....you won't find many weekend drag cars or PSMCDR guys using Quanta Belts. It's a great factory correct product....just not good for over 6000 rpm. Dan |
Re: Donnie`s new 1969 Dover White L78 Chevelle
I tried the Quanta belts on my Chevelle & Camaro and had the same twisting problem at high RPM. So worried it would damage the curved neck radiator I switched to Napa belts also.
