It has been 10 years since the "Miracle on the Hudson," when US Airways pilot Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger successfully landed his disabled plane on the Hudson River. All 155 on board the flight were rescued before the plane sank.

US Airways Flight 1549 was an Airbus A320 which, in the climb-out after takeoff from New York City's LaGuardia Airport on January 15, 2009, struck a flock of Canada geese just northeast of the George Washington Bridge and consequently lost all engine power. Unable to reach any airport, pilots Chesley Sullenberger and Jeffrey Skiles glided the plane to a ditching in the Hudson River off Midtown Manhattan.

On Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019, an airplane that used to be the most popular in the world flew its last scheduled flight with passengers. A Boeing 727 operated its final passenger flight, between two Iranian cities.

Whirlpool's WLabs is launching a $799 oven this spring that can automatically detect and cook the food you place in it.

If you place salmon inside, for example, it sees that you're cooking fish and knows the right temperature and length to cook it.

The oven also works with an app that lets you look inside while it's cooking.

In 2014, when Canada took on Sweden in the olympic hockey gold medal game, the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission allowed bars to open at 5 am to start serving patrons watching the game!

A couple of my NMCA racing buddies were on that flight.

They were shaken, but not stirred.

On election days in Alaska, businesses that sell alcohol must stay closed until polls close. It is also illegal to be drunk on the premises of a bar or restaurant that sells alcohol, and bars can't sell alcohol at a discounted rate unless the discount is regularly given every day of the week.
