Here's some pictures of my Dad's first new car 1965 Impala taken in 1966. He bought the car and less that a year later got drafted, had to sell it. The Pontiac I beleive is a 1966 picture taken in 1968 right after he got out of the Army.

I've been following this thread for quite a while. Thanks to everyone who has posted! Figured it was time for me to share one from my family history.
https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbt...e=TheStart.jpg Here's my Mom's brand new 71 Satellite next to the 64 Fairlane it replaced. That's my Dad's 68 Dodge A-108 in the background. According to the August 1971 date, this would have been right around the time frame I was conceived. Also, found this video recently. Looks to be filmed possibly in the fall of 1959 (based on the load of brand new 1960 Caddies seen). Really a cool period film, produced by the Iowa DOT. http://vimeo.com/14422648 |
Re: Old Street Scenes
What a great car watchers video!!!
I remember traveling as a kid from NY down to NC every summer and Christmas to visit relatives and that's the way it was - two lane roads, getting stuck on the hills behind the semi's and endless town after town! A real shot of Americana! Thanks for posting! (Those Caddy's appear to be '62's) |
