Ouch! Glad to hear everyone is ok. It reminds me of my friends 69 Chevelle that got crushed by a tree.

I always admired the styling cue Olds used on the 1968 - 1972 442: Dual Exhaust Layout. The way they were molded into the rear bumper as opposed to just hanging below it. I would like to think that the man/men who did the styling on the Dodge Ram Pickup had them in mind. https://i.postimg.cc/pLX51j5s/44.png |

Back in the day we didn't have the internet. No Facebook or Twitter. But that didn't mean we didn't have "social media." We did . . . monthly magazines. Yes Bob Tasca Sr. put a 427 into a 1967 Mustang 2+2 and drove it to Detroit to show Ford it could be done. But a year later it was Hot Rod Magazine, thru it's readership, showed Ford that they needed to make consumer priced friendly (as opposed to the Shelby GT Mustangs) high performance Mustangs. At the end of 1967 Ford had just 7% of the youth oriented performance car market. By the end of the 1969 model year it jumped to over 20%. All directly related to Ford's new 428 Cobra Jet engine. It was Bob Tasca Sr. who coined the phrase; "Win On Sunday, Sell On Monday. |
