My home town was N. Merrick LI. When my parents got divorced my mom and I moved to Forest Hills where she worked for Air France at JFK Airport. I went to Forest Hills High for my Junior year. Then she got a job offer as Head Of Sales for Grossinger's Hotel in Liberty, NY where I finished my last year of high school. I always wanted to go to Babson College in Wellesley MA. which I did: September 1969.

When I got married over the summer of 1971 we got an apartment in Framingham, right across the street from the Pontiac dealership which is where I bought my first new car: 1973 Formula 455 Firebird.

We stayed in Framingham until 1978 when we moved to Ithaca, NY so my wife could be near her mother. My son Alex was born in Framingham MA. in 1975.

Do you remember Lee Chevrolet Bill?

I remember one night driving over to Natick Dodge to see what had been delivered. A past time of mine - going to dealerships at night and looking at their stock. While walking around the cars I spotted this 1969 GTS Dart. Med. Blue with a Black vinyl top, Black bumblebee stripe and Black interior. The engine callout on the hood said 383, but when I looked at the window sticker it said "440 Magnum Engine."

Waiting for my new 43" Smart HDTV to be delivered. E-mail says by the end of today - 4 days early! :3gears:

This will be a first for me - a TV in my bedroom. Never had one. I use my bedroom to read and sleep. Home Theater is in the Living Room. Was looking for something at Walmart online when I saw this deal: $88.

Now I can cut back on my exercise - don't have to walk from my bedroom to the LR unless I want to watch a DVD or Blu-ray.

I have to buy a Sound Bar as I know the TV speakers suck. My son has the same TV in his bedroom only it's not a Smart TV. So we made it smart - bought a Roku device for streaming: $25. I also have one in my HT.

I can't remember his name either. Yes he was tall and portly. Dirty blond hair that hung on his forehead. He had a moustache. Used to stop by and have coffee with him from time to time. I finally bought a car from him - a Vega GT for my wife.

One of the guys in our dorm who I was sort of friends with was thinking about buying a new Chevelle SS454 (71) They had a convertible on the lot, Black with White stripes and White Interior. My friend didn't like the stripes. "No problem, we can paint over them" was his answer. He had a 1967 427 Impala SS convertible and was going to trade it in. When it was all said and done, the salesman pulled me over to the side and told me his credit stank - no deal.

I saw a triple black 65 fuelie late in the winter of 65 (app. early March) on the Harvard campus and it had side pipes. 1st one I had ever seen, and I have seen only a tiny number of verifiable one's since. That black 65 ended up in a close friends garage in Provincetown on Cape Cod many years ago and I know it well!.....Bill S

The steam tractors a few pages back made me think on this one, on display in Henry Ford's Greenfield Village.

The sign has always cracked me up, where it talks about "the pinnacle of steam technology".

To me that would be akin to "the acme of stone tools" or some such thing.
