Out comes the 3M dry guide coat and the block party has begun! I was eyeballing the hood and something just didn't seem right. Looking at the rear part of it, the lip actually flares inward at the end. Knowing Steve and knowing I'd never hear the end of it if I returned the car to him in this state, I sliced a little, bent a little, and will weld up the gap to fill in the slice. Presto! A lined up hood! More on that on the next update. I'm very happy with the hood lines and the front of the car is down to 220.

Luckily, most of the dings are on the body line, so that's good. :rolleyes2::no:

More to come tomorrow as I hit the doors and roof!

Cheers:beers:

LOL, What, me worry???

The hidden benefit of having someone with OCD doing the body and paint on this car is that he is never satisfied with his own superhuman efforts.

I guess I will just have to "settle" for the purple car being perfect. (when perfect most likely isn't enough for SuperDave).

Keep up the great work!

Thanks, Steve! But perfect? Oh no, nothing I do is perfect. Not by a long shot! Don’t you remember Mothzilla landing on my Bee’s fender during the clear? Let’s also not forget the Great Wall of China run on the last coat of clear on the Mustang. And who could forget the “WTF? Why would they put the reducer and Wax/Degreaser in the same style can?!?!?!?” when I was painting the Viper’s rocker panels!!!!!:bs: Oh yeah, this and more are all things to come during the Purple Haze shoot!:scholar::eek2:

I’m creating Jigasaurus III for the bumpers and small painted parts like the marker bezels and mirrors. Enough tippity type.....time to block!!!!

Update comin’ in HOT later today!!!:burnout:

Cheers:beers:

Alrighty, where was I? Oh yeah! Block-City!:cool2:

As I stated before, luckily all the dings are on the body line:frown: But after the initial round of blocking, I'm pretty happy so far.

Round one of pics.... hey? Where'd that body line go? :dunno:

Cheers:beers:

.... block... block... sand... sand... oh what a pain in the a$$ it is! Wasn't there a commercial like that?:hmmm:

We're at 220 but I'm not happy with a few areas so more blocking. I was surprised at the trunk lid. I felt like Red Beard in the Caribbean with all the freakin' waves! A lot more work ahead of me than planned, so it might take another day!

More blocking tomorrow! And there next day...aaaaaaand the next day. Soooo much freaking fun!

Even a few action shots so you know it's me!

Cheers:beers:

Some more of the other side, then prime. The darker primer is the heavier stuff so I can get those lines crisp. Lighter gray is the 4:1:1 mix.

That's 9hrs today. I think it's refreshment time!

Cheers :beers:

Block, Block Block.

When I saw that, all I could think of was Mel Brooks. ;-)
