Lee, you could in fact get the stripes in black if ordered through the F&SO department. I have two documented cars in my database with paperwork. One of which I personally inspected the buildsheet. I do not know of very many but it could be done.

I agree with you Rick that it could be done . . . but the odds say it wasn't. Especially as this particular car is not what the owner claims it is. He is saying it's an L78 because is has an HP tach . . . with A/C and an iron intake manifold. And of course, there is no paperwork.

Not too many Fathom Blue Chevelles have black stripes. The worst is Black Cherry then Forest Green. People figure Black top, Black interior - stripes should be Black. But Chevy wanted contrast with their stripes which is lacking when they are Black versus White with the dark colors.

The one I inspected was coincidently Black Cherry and yes the stripes do blend in dramatically on that color.

Like raw onions in your salad or on your sandwich? Here's a trick that will make them "tamer" and sweeter. Take a White Onion and slice it into thin slices, then put them in cold water for an hour.

This is so true,but go a step further and add a half amount of Tabasco sauce to that cold water.
