I just noticed something while perusing the thread. Remember the "4" and "2" that were crayoned on the inner wheelhouses inside the car? They just happen to match the "4" and "2" that are stamped on the upper right corner of the fender tag. They are line inspector ID stamps.

Hmmmmm....yes, but would this be for one inspector? And if that’s the case, they’d be located together, no? And with that, if it’s two inspectors, then why would they be located on the same part of the car only feet apart?:hmmm: But I agree they’re inspector marks!

Another thing is like on the Beater Bee, the penmanship on the Broadcast Sheet that says “WM23” and “M6X” were the same as the “G70 Red” tire size written on the underside of the deck lid. Interesting! I guess handwriting guy had a pretty cushy gig back then!:laugh:

That "G70 Red" on the deck lid - Plymouth stopped using redlines after 1969. RWL for 1970. They weren't an option. Just RWL and white lines. Plus the 70 Cuda line used F70 as STD with E60 optional except the Hemi which got F60s.

The only Chrysler cars to use G70 redlines were the 1969 A12 440+6 Road Runner and Super Bee (15"). Only one other car used those tires: 1969 Impala SS 427.

Maybe one inspector was assigned to the passenger side, and one to the driver's side of the production line? Or they were playing a game: "I'm thinking of a number between 2 and 4...

Lee, you might have overlooked it. I was referring to my Beater Bee’s (A12 Super Bee) tire and wheel combo, not the Cudas!:biggthumpup: The writing on the deck lid matched the writing on the Broadcast Sheet. Same guy wrote both, I believe.

Oh, now come on Lee. You know neither of those are true! Ok, maybe that insomniac thing. Does that have beer in it? :confused2: But as of today, the trunk, jambs, and engine bay are ready for paint! :burnout:

A good day of aligning body panels, followed by another day of aligning body panels, chased by another day of... you guessed it... aligning body panels. Ya know, I really liked that A12. No damn hood to align. And tweak on end of the hood a certain way and the door on my Ram 2500 doesn't shut right! Seriously?

But no matter, after several hours of struggling I think it's looking pretty good. And now that I'm devoid of fingerprints due to hand sanding the trunk, jambs and engine bay, time to give the paws a rest and break out the long boards for a block-fest to end all block fests! :eek2:

Not entirely happy with the rear valance alignment so I'll be slicing that up a bit to make fit better. I used Slicksand on the trunk floor and interior to fill in the small voids. It did wonders for filling in the pitting in the trunk. Also blasted the bumper brackets.

A productive week with more to come next week. You won't want to miss those episodes! :bs:
