As a matter of fact, there Normy, if I may interject, there are officially known as Supercalifrag-elastic bumpers, originally invented by little known inventor, M. Poppins, in England in the mid 1960's.

I believe it's pronounced "Nahmy"...:wink: And all I know is I need a fancy paint additive for these new-fangled bumper thingies! But no matter.... they'll soon be mounted up!

A good day today. Window channels de-gooiefied of all that vulcanized kryptonite sealer they used to secure them in place, yet mysteriously, still allowing water to get through and rust out the channel! :thumbsdown: But with extra scrap metal laying around it's easy-peasy to patch it up!

The satin eggshell white exterior grade house paint from Sears is all off the door jambs and for the time being, the car is devoid of any FC7 on the exterior! Underside of the valances and such are all primed in DPLF and I'll be assembling the car here later this will which will start the panel alignment and block sanding! Woohoo! Umm...I think:hmmm:

How did you preserve the door tag on the driver's door? Careful painters tape?

I hand stripped around the vin tag, then masked it off with electrical tape. Now that the epoxy is sprayed, a magnet cut to fit the exact size of the decal will cover it from any primer that may get sprayed onto it accidentally. When I spray the fill primer, I’ll tape it off again:biggthumpup:

Today was body panel alignment day! :biggthumpup: And although somewhat happy, I'm not entirely happy, but I'm happy about the progress. Although I'm not happy with some aftermarket part fitment (imagine that! :hmmm:) but that can be fixed. I'm the King of Tweaking! I'm not sure if that was politically correct or not, but I'm sticking with it!

More this week. Tomorrow I'm hitting the skys in a Cherokee Warrior to go see a friend in Houston, so nothing going down tomorrow. But hope by the weekend I'll run up to Ft. Worth and hit the paint shop for the final round of supplies: Base, Clear, some extra DPLF, and the flex agent for the bumpers. :biggthumpup:

Driver's side is pretty much aligned up. I think I need to move the door back 1/8th of an inch, but the body line matches up perfectly! Hood is lined up but running out of adjustment play in the direction I need it to go.

Passenger door needs work...it needs to rotate counter clockwise a tad to lower the rear and raise the front.

Mopars aren't really known for "quality" gaps and panel alignment, but Steve-O demands the best! Or, at least as best as I can get it before I just give up! :grin::hmmm::biggthumpup::tongue:

You aint kidding there!

I remember when we did the yellow 71 hemicuda ragtop. I used NOS Cuda fenders and they were terrible. They both had major dip zones on the fender tops where they ran parallel to the hood. It almost looked like an AAR Cuda with a warped fiberglas hood, bulging in the middle, only it wasn't the hood that was bad - it was the fenders. And one of the NOS convertible quarters we used was 1/2" longer than the other. It had to be sectioned and rewelded back together to work.

I am simply amazed at the progress you are making.

Got any more land next door? I think I'm gonna retire and just move down there so we can open up a shop that only works on our own stuff.
