Looks like it's a replica. Here's the actual 1954 Chevrolet Corvair Concept car:

Never even noticed that. Good catch. It also means the rear window slats were added. When you ordered them from the factory, the twin sport mirrors were included due to some state regulations.

----The only noticeable changes I can see aside from its height and wheels and tires are,,, 1. no back-up lights and 2. the hatch marks on the front fenders. If it is a repro it's a damn good one. Would love to find out more about it as I feel the same as Lee!!!......Bill S

----Also just noticed that the door button on the black one is slightly higher!

I agree she is sexy.....but this car along with the real prototype lack some body misalignments that would drive me crazy.

I would use the body shell to make a custom chassis with a BBC and 6-71 Blower :-)
Now that would be Super Sexy!

The Corvair dream car was an experimental two-passenger fastback. It was built with a fiberglass body and was touted as a “new aerodynamic design” for the closed sports car class. The streamlined roofline swept back into the jet exhaust-type rear opening. It was originally a ruby-red color for the New York City Motorama in January but had repainted in a lighter hue by the time of the Los Angeles show in March. Sluggish sales of the 1954 production model Corvette deterred GM management from moving forward with the fastback coupe. Hence, the Corvair was the only one of the trio of designs not to make it to production in some form. Of course, the nameplate would be recycled later for the infamous 1960 Corvair rear-engined compact car.

OOPS! This is not the original concept car. It too is a replica. The original was crushed.
